eBook & eMap FAQ

1.
Can I install my eBook or eMap on more than one computer?

eBooks or eMaps can only be installed on one computer per Order. To install on additional computers you would have to purchase another license.

2.
What are the system requirements to install the eBook or eMap?

Suggested System Requirements:

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and MAC compatible.
800 mhz processor (AMD or Intel compatible) 128mb Ram, 40-60mb Hard Drive Space, CD-ROM, Keyboard, Mouse.

Can I install my eBook or eMap on my network server for everyone in my office to access?

No, eBooks and eMaps are licensed per single user. They are designed to be installed locally on your computer and can't be shared on a network. To install on additional computers in your office you must purchase additional licenses.

 

4.
After I install my eBook or eMap and close it, how do I get back to it?

When the eBook or eMap is installed, by default it is installed to C:\program files\Marceline Mapping\ebook . There will be a shortcut on your desktop and also in the Program Files menu under your start menu. You can use these shortcuts to gain access to it again.

Can I give my eBook or eMap to someone else to install on their computer?

No, The eBook or eMap is only for use on one computer per Order. They can call us and purchase another copy for installation or purchase it through our
Online Store.

What is the difference between your eBook and the printed copy of your plat book?
  • We use an interactive table of contents that allows you to browse through the book quickly and easily.
  • The document is completely linked together for easy navigation.
  • You can Zoom in and out to make names and symbols easier to read.
  • Pages can be printed out (For personal use only see Copyright) for use when away from your computer. (Farming, Construction, Land survey, or just needing to know who owns a piece of land when on the road.)
  • Don't have to worry about the book or map getting lost or stolen, because it is stored on your computer.

Can I print pages in the eBook or eMap?

Yes, Pages can be printed out for use when away from your computer per Copyright.

 

8.
Why does the latest version of Adobe Reader (9.0) have to be installed before installing and opening the eBook or eMap?

The eBook is created using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat. (Version 9.0) There are features available in this version that are not in the previous versions of Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader 9.0 must be installed for optimal performance.

What is the difference between an eBook and an eMap?
  • An eBook is a version of our Plat Book in digital format and contains a landowner index.
  • An eMap is a version of our Wall Map in digital format and shows the county all put together in one piece.
10.
Where can I find help on how to use the eBook or eMap after I install it?

There are three help pages contained in the eBook under eBook Help in the Table of Contents. Also there is an Adobe Reader 9.0 help menu that can be accessed by pressing the F1 key when you have Adobe Reader open. You can also find help on our website. A printed copy is also included with your Installation Packet.

You had your computer crash and had to re-install Windows or you have a new computer and need to transfer your eBook or eMap to the new computer.

You will need to reinstall the file from your downloaded copy that you purchased. If you do not have this backup copy, you will need to purchase a new copy.
